The client requested a house that would "maximize outdoor living." To minimize retaining wall heights and maximize outdoor space, the house was seperated into two boxes, one white and one black. The black box; post and beam with glass curtain walls, encloses private living areas. The white box; constructed with concrete walls and plaster, provides parking and day living. The floor plan is flexible to allow manipulation of space as the inhabitants needs change.
